The mail host provider has maintenance on their server. It is a big upgrade from version 8.8 to 9.x. Once the server updated complete, all email clients (Outlook) tried to update the Zimbra Connector for Outlook (ZCO).

Challenge

Due to some machines do not have admin rights and keep circling to update, the manual update has to be done via downloading from https://www.zimbra.com/downloads/zimbra-connector-for-outlook/. The installation went OK but when run the Outlook just shut itself/crash. 🙁

Solution

Create a new Outlook profile by using Zimbra connector and sync the email.

When the sync is done, delete the old Zimbra profile.

Restart the machine.

Open the Outlook again.

Environment

Microsoft Windows 10 Version 1903, 1909, 2004
Microsoft Outlook Version 2013, 2016, 2019
Zimbra Connector for Outlook Version 8.8.12.1813 (old)
